SOY WAX CANDLE CARE
LIGHTING YOUR CANDLE FOR THE FIRST TIME
Soy wax has "burn memory'', so when lighting for the first time make sure you are able to burn it for a minimum of 2 -3 hours continuously. When you do this your candle burns across the whole surface giving you an even melt pool, this is when the soy wax creates it's memory and will burn evenly going forward. Scents are released from the melt pool so do make sure you have a full surface layer of melted liquid wax before extinguishing. Doing this will avoid any tunneling which in turn avoids wasted wax and lost fragrance.
RE-LIGHTING YOUR CANDLE
When re-lighting your candle make sure you trim the wick to around 5mm, this prevents the flame from being too large and stops 'mushrooming' of the wick. Mushrooming is the term used for a large piece of burnt wick that makes your candle burn quicker and can create a build up of soot often leading to the mushroom falling into the wax creating a fire hazard. We'd recommend you use a wick trimmer to keep it short.
Candles should not be burned for more than 4 hours at a time and you should always allow your candle to cool for at least 2 hours between each burn. Remember not to leave your candles unattended and keep out of draughts, away from children and items that have the potential to catch on fire.
Now all that's been said... Sit back, relax and enjoy your luxury candle.
